These items are locked in the top two levels of the Demiplane Voucher Shop and are directly tied to gacha draws in the Demiplane Supply Station. The second to last shop level requires 1000 Demiplane Vouchers just to unlock the ability to purchase the fellow attuned artifacts. Without spending, the maximum number of Demiplane Vouchers that can be acquired is 250. Since any unused Demiplane Gift Cards (event gacha tickets) covert into crystals at the end of each event appearance, it is impossible to ever acquire these awards without spending.

Issue #2: Low draw rate for SSR Fellows

While low draw rates are not unique to this event, there are a few additional confounding factors that make Moonlit Chill Work especially unfriendly to free to play players:

* The guaranteed SSR draw pity counter resets at each appearance of the event.
* The Otherworld Bond pity counter resets at each appearance of the event.
* Demiplane Gift Cards (event gacha tickets) expire and are converted into crystals at the end of each appearance of the event.

Issue #3: Event crystal packs can only be purchased once each appearance of the event.

Crystal pack event bundle purchase limits do not reset during the course of the event so they can only be purchased once. The price of the top 3 packs is fairly high (1988 crystals).

Issue #4: Event changes in the most recent iteration of the event resulted in the reduction of freely available Demiplane Gift Cards from 35 to 25.

As a result, it is no longer possible to acquire the Demiplane Gift Box (contains choice of either SR Fellow: [[Emma]] or 5 Demiplane Gift Cards) without spending.

== Cost Analysis: Acquiring Tomoe's 5 star Justice in the Night Costume ==
TLDR: For budgeting purposes assume a price range of somewhere between $271.66 - $311.64 and 6328 crystals.

Acquiring Tomoe's Justice in the Night costume in one event appearance requires a total of at least 450k points. Points are acquired by delivering goods in Emma's Trade Post. Due to the fact that there are three rarities of goods / orders and the exact number acquired each day is random, this cannot be definitively estimated to exact precision. However, each pairing of Order Ticket and Goods Ticket will yield approximately 1k points.

Each day a free run of the "Get Goods" and "Get Orders" mini games can be attempted. In addition, one Order Ticket and one Goods Ticket is available via each Daily Task list. Over the course of the event this will account for approximately 24k of the 450k points.

It is possible to acquire another 6 Order Tickets and 6 Goods Tickets with crystals in the Event Bundles shop. This will set you back 188 + 988 + 1988 = 3164 crystals for each ticket type or a total of 6328 crystals. That brings the total from 24k + 6k = 30k of the required 450k points. So the remaining 420k points must be from tickets purchased in the cash shop.

Since the lower priced cash shop ticket packs yield more tickets per dollar, the most cost effective method of p2w is to spread the purchases out over the course of the entire event. To determine exactly which packs need to be purchased, calculate the daily p2w point total required. 420k / 12 days = 35k points per day.

The 99 cent pack yields 2 of each ticket type, the $4.99 pack yields 8 of each ticket type, and the $19.99 pack yields 30 of each ticket type. So 40k points each day all 3 of those packs are purchased. 40 tickets * 12 days = 480 tickets which is 60 tickets over the 420k goal. So subtract two $19.99 packs over the course of the event. This comes out to $0.99 + $4.99 + $19.99 = $25.97 per day * 12 days = $311.64 over the course of the event. Then subtract those two $19.99 packs for $311.64 - $39.98 = $271.66 expected spend to acquire Tomoe's 5 star Justice in the Night costume in a single event run.

As stated at the beginning of this section, there is an amount of randomness to daily point acquisition so it may be necessary to purchase an additional $19.99 pack or two.

10 vouchers are awarded for each gacha draw in the Demiplane Supply Station. Issue #1: The following event rewards are completely locked behind a paywall:

* Tomoe's Crystal (SSR to UR Ascension item for Tomoe)
* UR Artifact: Tomoe's Katana (fellow attuned artifact)
* UR Artifact: Mio's Iron Fan (fellow attuned artifact)
* UR Artifact: Shiki's Crown (fellow attuned artifact)

These items are locked in the top two levels of the Demiplane Voucher Shop and are directly tied to gacha draws in the Demiplane Supply Station. The second to last shop level requires 1000 Demiplane Vouchers just to unlock the ability to purchase the fellow attuned artifacts. Without spending, the maximum number of Demiplane Vouchers that can be acquired is 250. Since any unused Demiplane Gift Cards (event gacha tickets) covert into crystals at the end of each event appearance, it is impossible to ever acquire these awards without spending.

Issue #2: Low draw rate for SSR Fellows

While low draw rates are not unique to this event, there are a few additional confounding factors that make Moonlit Chill Work especially unfriendly to free to play players:

* The guaranteed SSR draw pity counter resets at each appearance of the event.
* The Otherworld Bond pity counter resets at each appearance of the event.
* Demiplane Gift Cards (event gacha tickets) expire and are converted into crystals at the end of each appearance of the event.

Issue #3: Event crystal packs can only be purchased once each appearance of the event.

Crystal pack event bundle purchase limits do not reset during the course of the event so they can only be purchased once. The price of the top 3 packs is fairly high (1988 crystals).

Issue #4: Event changes in the most recent iteration of the event resulted in the reduction of freely available Demiplane Gift Cards from 35 to 25.

As a result, it is no longer possible to acquire the Demiplane Gift Box (contains choice of either SR Fellow: [[Emma]] or 5 Demiplane Gift Cards) without spending.

== Cost Analysis: Acquiring Tomoe's 5 star Justice in the Night Costume ==
TLDR: For budgeting purposes assume a price range of somewhere between $271.66 - $311.64 and 6328 crystals.

Acquiring Tomoe's Justice in the Night costume in one event appearance requires a total of at least 450k points. Points are acquired by delivering goods in Emma's Trade Post. Due to the fact that there are three rarities of goods / orders and the exact number acquired each day is random, this cannot be definitively estimated to exact precision. However, each pairing of Order Ticket and Goods Ticket will yield approximately 1k points.

Each day a free run of the "Get Goods" and "Get Orders" mini games can be attempted. In addition, one Order Ticket and one Goods Ticket is available via each Daily Task list. Over the course of the event this will account for approximately 24k of the 450k points.

It is possible to acquire another 6 Order Tickets and 6 Goods Tickets with crystals in the Event Bundles shop. This will set you back 188 + 988 + 1988 = 3164 crystals for each ticket type or a total of 6328 crystals. That brings the total from 24k + 6k = 30k of the required 450k points. So the remaining 420k points must be from tickets purchased in the cash shop.

Since the lower priced cash shop ticket packs yield more tickets per dollar, the most cost effective method of p2w is to spread the purchases out over the course of the entire event. To determine exactly which packs need to be purchased, calculate the daily p2w point total required. 420k / 12 days = 35k points per day.

The 99 cent pack yields 2 of each ticket type, the $4.99 pack yields 8 of each ticket type, and the $19.99 pack yields 30 of each ticket type. So 40k points each day all 3 of those packs are purchased. 40 tickets * 12 days = 480 tickets which is 60 tickets over the 420k goal. So subtract two $19.99 packs over the course of the event. This comes out to $0.99 + $4.99 + $19.99 = $25.97 per day * 12 days = $311.64 over the course of the event. Then subtract those two $19.99 packs for $311.64 - $39.98 = $271.66 expected spend to acquire Tomoe's 5 star Justice in the Night costume in a single event run.

As stated at the beginning of this section, there is an amount of randomness to daily point acquisition so it may be necessary to purchase an additional $19.99 pack or two.

However, each pairing of Order Ticket and Goods Ticket will yield approximately 1k points.

Each day a free run of the "Get Goods" and "Get Orders" mini games can be attempted. In addition, one Order Ticket and one Goods Ticket is available via each Daily Task list. Over the course of the event this will account for approximately 24k of the 450k points.

It is possible to acquire another 6 Order Tickets and 6 Goods Tickets with crystals in the Event Bundles shop. This will set you back 188 + 988 + 1988 = 3164 crystals for each ticket type or a total of 6328 crystals. That brings the total from 24k + 6k = 30k of the required 450k points. The Demiplane Supply Station is the event gacha. Ultimate rewards include SSR Fellow: Tomoe, SSR Fellow: Mio, and SSR Fellow: Shiki. SR Fellow: Emma also appears as a rare reward in the gacha.

Demiplane Gift Cards are the gacha tickets for the event. A total of 25 free Demiplane Gift Cards can be attained in Another Story and Justice in the Night areas of the event. Unused Demiplane Gift Cards are converted into 100 crystals each at the end of the event.

Similar to many other gachas in the game, you are awarded an extra draw when you use the 10 ticket multi draw option (11 draws for 10 tickets) so you should always utilize this option until the final day of the event.

Each draw in this gacha, to include the free "11th draw" when using 10 Demiplane Gift Cards, awards 10 Demiplane Vouchers. These vouchers can be redeemed in the Demiplane Voucher Shop.

Due to the fact that there are three rarities of goods / orders and the exact number acquired each day is random, this cannot be definitively estimated to exact precision. However, each pairing of Order Ticket and Goods Ticket will yield approximately 1k points.

Each day a free run of the "Get Goods" and "Get Orders" mini games can be attempted. In addition, one Order Ticket and one Goods Ticket is available via each Daily Task list. Over the course of the event this will account for approximately 24k of the 450k points.

It is possible to acquire another 6 Order Tickets and 6 Goods Tickets with crystals in the Event Bundles shop. This will set you back 188 + 988 + 1988 = 3164 crystals for each ticket type or a total of 6328 crystals. That brings the total from 24k + 6k = 30k of the required 450k points. As stated at the beginning of this section, there is an amount of randomness to daily point acquisition so it may be necessary to purchase an additional $19.99 pack or two.

== Cost Analysis: Acquiring Tomoe's Crystal and Fellow Attuned Artifacts ==
TLDR: $216.71 over the course of the event by purchasing the 99 cent pack every day, $4.99 pack 9 of 12 days, and $19.99 pack 8 of 12 days.

Tomoe's SSR to UR ascension item and the three fellow attuned artifacts are locked in the final two levels of the Demiplane Voucher shop. The artifact level requires 1000 demiplane vouchers spent to unlock and the Tomoe's Crystal level requires 1500 demiplane vouchers spent to unlock. As the fellow attuned artifacts cost 150 vouchers each, you will acquire all three on the way to unlocking Tomoe's Crystal. In summary, the voucher cost is:

* all 3 fellow attuned artifacts = 1450 vouchers
* Tomoe's Crystal = 1700 vouchers

1 voucher is awarded for each gacha draw in the Demiplane Supply Station. Since using 10 tickets at a time results in 11 draws (and 110 vouchers), the most cost effective way to play the gacha is to only perform 10 ticket draws. Therefore this assessment will only consider 10 ticket draws and not attempt to reduce cost by usage of single draws.

1700 vouchers total / 110 vouchers per 10 tickets = 15.45 draws. Since we are only considering 10 ticket draws that number needs to be rounded up to 16 multi-ticket draws or 160 Demiplane Gift Cards. There are a total of 25 freebie Demiplane Gift Cards (15 in Justice of the Night point awards and another 10 in Another Story dice game). As there are no crystal packs containing Demiplane Gift Cards, the remaining 135 gacha tickets will need to be purchased in the cash shop.

As with the Tomoe costume cost analysis, the number of tickets per dollar is greater at the lower three bundle packs. So we want to determine the average number of draws per day which is 135 tickets / 12 days = 11.25 tickets per day. Note that this is a ticket acquisition daily average and, since tickets can be saved over the course of the event, it is not necessary to round this number up as we did for the draw calculation.

The super easy math would be to just purchase the $19.99 Demiplane Special Bundle III everyday as it yields 12 tickets. However I will not take the easy way out and perform the full calculation to help those budget minded spenders pay the lowest amount possible.

The 99 cent pack yields 1 ticket, the $4.99 pack yields 3 tickets, and the $19.99 pack yields 12 tickets. All 3 packs would run $25.97 per day and yield 16 tickets. Over the course of the event that would be $311.64 for 192 tickets. However we only need 135 tickets so that is a 57 ticket excess. To get to 57 using ticket values of the various packs, the combination that would shave the most dollars off the total price would be four $19.99 packs (48 tickets) and three $4.99 packs (9 tickets) = $94.93 (57 tickets). Pulling this all together we have $311.64 - $94.93 = $216.71 over the course of the event by purchasing the 99 cent pack every day, $4.99 pack 9 of 12 days, and $19.99 pack 8 of 12 days.

== Preparation ==
During the preparation phase, guilds can obtain materials and use them to strengthen their guild sandships. The top 64 guilds in the preparation phase will qualify to participate in the preliminary.

Compasses act as stamina currency for exploration. A new compass is accrued every 30 minutes and a maximum of 20 compasses can be held at any given time. Additional compasses can be purchased for 20 crystals each while the compass count is zero. Use compasses to search for excavation sites.

While exploring you will either encounter a mineral rich site (rare) or an excavation site. If you find a mineral rich site the exploration will not consume a compass and you will immediately be given 150 power up materials of random type (all 150 will be of the same type). If you instead discover an excavation site, it will have a rating of S, A, or B. S ranked sites are worth 300 power up materials, A ranked sites are worth between 40 - 100 power up materials, and B ranked sites are worth 10 power up materials.

Your excavation queue can hold a maximum of 100 sites. If you explore when the queue is full, the lowest ranked excavation site will be removed from the list to make room for the newly discovered one. While exploring with a full excavation queue, you will receive a popup message indicating your queue is full with a prompt asking if you wish to continue.

The top 64 guilds in the preparation phase will qualify to participate in the preliminary race phase.

At this stage, we use the previously strengthened ship to reach the torch in the competition lane chosen by the clan leader. If the guild leader does not select a lane prior to the start of the preliminary match, one will be randomly selected. The guild leader can change the assigned lane without restriction prior to the end of the preliminary preparation phase.

During the course of the journey, we can deploy our fellows to attack rival ships and delay them. Beyond the ability to attack directly with the fellows, we can also utilize the primas. During this stage, new bundles will be available for purchase, along with new rewards.

While the preliminary race is underway, the guild leader can switch lanes to compete for a different torch. When changing lanes, the distance to the new torch will be increased by 18,000 meters and a 1 hour cooldown timer is applied before the guild leader can change lanes again.

There are a total of 8 torches and the first 8 guilds to reach a torch will qualify for the final match. In the event not all of the torches are captured by the end of the preliminary game timer expires, the closest guild to each uncaptured torch will qualify.

== Final Match ==
The top 8 guilds in the preliminary phase will qualify to participate in the final match.

In the finals, we repeat the mechanics of the preliminary rounds, except now it's the top 8 that first reached the respective torches. Similar to the preliminaries, we will receive extra rewards for reaching the torch.

* Fun notes here
* Event Synopsis: Leon has the best abs in the game and looks badass in general. That is all.
* Preparation phase = 6 hour wait, tap for 10 minutes, repeat for 4 days.
* Preliminary phase = What do you mean it's over? I even took half the day off from work so I could participate!

The top 64 guilds in the preparation phase will qualify to participate in the preliminary race phase.

At this stage, we use the previously strengthened ship to reach the torch in the competition lane chosen by the clan leader. If the guild leader does not select a lane prior to the start of the preliminary match, one will be randomly selected. The guild leader can change the assigned lane without restriction prior to the end of the preliminary preparation phase.

During the course of the journey, we can deploy our fellows to attack rival ships and delay them. Beyond the ability to attack directly with the fellows, we can also utilize the primas. During this stage, new bundles will be available for purchase, along with new rewards.

While the preliminary race is underway, the guild leader can switch lanes to compete for a different torch. When changing lanes, the distance to the new torch will be increased by 18,000 meters and a 1 hour cooldown timer is applied before the guild leader can change lanes again.

There are a total of 8 torches and the first 8 guilds to reach a torch will qualify for the final match. In the event not all of the torches are captured by the end of the preliminary game timer expires, the closest guild to each uncaptured torch will qualify.

The top 8 guilds in the preliminary phase will qualify to participate in the final match.

In the finals, we repeat the mechanics of the preliminary rounds, except now it's the top 8 that first reached the respective torches. Similar to the preliminaries, we will receive extra rewards for reaching the torch.
